The hawks have returned to the Cochrane area!!
2016 – I was amazed at how many different types of hawks are in the Cochrane area. I wasn’t able to photograph them all and certainly have a hard time naming them, but it was exciting to try! We had a family of hawks that did a lot of hunting in the hills just off James Walker Trail. This one below I captured on Highway 766 and 274 just south of Lochend lake. I only had a split second to snap this photo out of the window of the car…but I loved the sign I call this photo “the protector”!
Here are a few snapshots of the hawk family hanging out near James Walker Trail.
